Preparing for the battle
With devastating war machines and elite troopers at their disposal the armies of the Empire and the Protectorate
clash in epic conflicts. The outcome of this war has yet to be decided. Have you got what it takes to lead your men to victory?
Let battle commence…
ASSEMBLING YOUR MODELS
The first thing that you need to do to play ROBOGEAR is to assemble your troopers and vehicles. ROBOGEAR models are very easy to put together,
so it's worth sitting down and assembling everything at the same time. You'll see that there are sometimes more weapons included with a model
than it has space for on the model itself. When this is the case match the weapons up to how it is assembled on the unit's card sheet. The extra
weapons allow you to transform the models into different types of unit, but don't worry about that for now.
You will need to use a pair of scissors or modeling clippers to cut the models off their plastic sprues. You might want to get an adult to help
you when you do this. If you do it yourself be careful to only cut the sprue and not the model itself, or your fingers!
PAINTING YOUR MODELS
You can paint your models with the paints and brush included inside the box but you don't need to do this straight away. If you're not sure
how to paint them you might want to get a an adult to help you, or you can visit the ROBOGEAR website (WWW.ROBOGEAR.RU) where you can find
painting tips and guides to show you just what to do.
In the box set you will find some different colors with which to paint your forces. Two of these, red and blue, are the primary colors for
the two factions. Red is the color of the Empire Polaris and blue is the color of the Trade Protectorate. This doesn't mean that you have to
paint your entire army in that particular color, you might want to just paint a single shoulder pad or amour panel in your faction's color,
but it's worth bearing in mind when you come to paint your models.
PLAYING THE GAME
To play ROBOGEAR you first need to get everything together that is required to play out a battle. So, before you start
make sure you have the following:
DICE
You need two of these, one for each player. A dice is also called a D6.
MODELS
There are two armies in the ROBOGEAR set, the Empire Polaris and the Trade Protectorate.

Easy to assemble model scenery is supplied and this can be used as part of your ROBOGEAR battles. Either army can use the terrain as a base
or it can be used as an objective. See the Missions on Pages 39-42 for more details.
SHEETS
For each fighting vehicle there is a card, called a unit sheet. This tells you everything you need to know about the unit. Make sure you have
one for each of your vehicles and one for all of your troopers. On the unit sheets for the vehicles clip on the plastic sliders so you can record
damage to the vehicle and how many shots it fires. Initially clip the sliders on the highest numbers of the scales.
RULERS
To measure distances there are two range rulers, one for each player. On the range rulers distances are marked in steps so you can work out
how far your models can move, and range categories (short and medium) so you can measure how far your units can fire.
PLAY AREA
This can be a kitchen table or your living room floor. As long as you play on a flat surface it doesn't matter. It can even be a specially
made board - go to WWW.ROBOGEAR.RU for ideas on how to make your own ROBOGEAR gaming table.
