Iron General
This monstrous cyborg, whose unique battle programs remained still a mystery for everybody except only for him, turned into a military genius
after the strike of the Empire “Thunderstorm Gun” at one of the Protectorate control centers of the robo-technical troops. The artificial
intellect born as a result of the transient error of computer programs showed so paradoxical military talents that it was decided to preserve
him and enclose into a cyborg body. Thus the Protectorate got one of its most talented commanders, though this hateful figure didn’t rouse
kindly feelings even of his companions-in-arms.
Iron General was given the command over the famous Protectorate 7th Robotic-Technical Corps. This elite unit was the first receiving the newest
models of fighting machines, best pilots, true aces were transferred to serve in the Corp. Iron General brought the excellent training of the
unit to perfection. The 7th Robotic-Technical Corps was entrusted the most important tasks.
Iron General, the commander of the 7th Robotic Corps was neither a real general nor even a human. A sinister artificial intellect enclosed into
the specially created for him body of cyborg didn’t know any other goal, but annihilation of the opponent. Iron General never felt either pity
or sympathy and demanded the same from his subordinates. In the Protectorate, the highest percent of punishments for various breaches of the
army regulations was in the units of his Corps. He became notorious for his cold prudence and inhuman blood-thirstiness. His credo on the
battlefield is “No captives”. Due to this fact General got another nickname – Iron Death.
However besides his phenomenal cruelty and doubtless talent of a military leader Iron General became famous for his great skill as a walking
tank pilot. He had no equal on the battlefield. He literally merged with the machine (what was not surprising - after all he himself was a machine)
making his walking tank carry maneuvers beyond the reach of common pilots. This became especially apparent during the furious battle for Teclius.
Iron General preferred to control the combat staying inside his T-Rex. While being in command of the robotic corps, he often headed the attacks of
assault units and personally destroyed dozens of the opponent’s walking tanks.
Only the armor and excellent maneuverability of General’s T-Rex saved him an Advisor Piriel when they got under the orbital strike of Ghost’s space
cruisers. The walking tank of Iron General lost almost all attached weapons and extra armor and its stabilization system was disabled, which would
be a death sentence for any machine of this type. But Iron General was directly connected to the control system of T-Rex through his cyber-implants
and managed to make the disabled machine move.
The walking tank of Iron General is the T-Rex assembled on his own order in the secret laboratories of RoboGear Industries.
In contrast to a standard T-Rex, his machine carried reinforced titanium-ceramic armor of special durability, which is similar to that of assault
landing shuttles of space-surface class. Moreover the standard interface of the walking tank is supplemented with special ports for connecting
the implants of Iron General to the machine’s computer.
The armament of Iron General’s walking tank:
- Two super-heavy machine-guns of 40 mm caliber “Typhoon” S&W Mk40.
The super-heavy machine-gun is extremely powerful weapon intended specially for fighting against armored targets. The armor-piercing effect
of this new weapon is so high that it compares well with some cannons.
- Two missile launchers “Harpoon” for unguided missiles Mk12.
These missiles are widespread all over the Galaxy and produced both in the Protectorate and the Empire.
The coloration of Iron General’s fighting machine.
Another manifestation of “human” in the character of Iron General could be considered the coloration of his fighting
machine. Just the appearance of his carbon-black and white T-Rex without any insignia, except for the fact that it looked like a grinning scull,
instilled terror into the Empire pilots.
