Commander James Lehzbovsky
James Lehzbovsky was born on the planet Angerran. He graduated from the engineering faculty of the Angerran College of Applied Sciences and for a
long time worked as a test-pilot of walking machines at the RoboGear Industries plants. At the age of 28 joined the reserve of Planetary Guards
then graduated from a military school on Angerran. In 10 years he was conferred the rank of major of Planetary Guards.
After the heroic defense of the planet, Lehzbovsky went to service in the Protectorate Military-Space Forces, took part in many battles and rose
to the rank of brigadier general. On Velian he was in command of the Protectorate 6th Robotic Division and took personal part in the battle for
the North Pole of the planet. After the end of the war, he was designated as the chief specialist in walking machines in the Protectorate
Headquarters of MSF. Lehzbovsky took part in developing of many walking tanks and headed the modification program of the assault walking tank
T-Rex. He is one of the ideologists and inspirers of the Raid War.
It was the third day since the industrial planet Angerran had been blockaded by the Third Fleet of the Polaris Empire. The resistance of
Planetary Guards hadn’t been broken yet, but with every hour the defenders became fewer and fewer in numbers. The outcome seemed predetermined.
The vast industrial complex of mining and building machines, RoboGear Industries became the arena of a fierce battle of Angerran Guards against
the Empire clone-infantry. The defenders hardly managed to contain the enemy’s onslaught along the perimeter of complex where the work was still
in full swing.
In the evening of the third day of the blockade, the advanced detachments of the 4th division of Planetary Guards could force their way to the
RoboGear Industries complex. Realizing the desperate situation of the complex defenders, the commander of the 4th division, Commander James
Lehzbovsky came to the only right decision – the main forces of the 4th division should evacuate valuable equipment, working drawings and secret
materials and also secure the scientists and qualified personnel of the company on their way to a safer region.
When Lehzbovsky explained to the complex leaders that there is no another way out, they handed him over the recently assembled new “crude” walking
tanks. James Lehzbovsky raised of these machines a covering detachment, which later became the First Angerran Armored Division. He himself headed
this detachment having passed the command over the 4th division to his second-in-command. Everybody, who were leaving, the guards and the complex
staff, understood that the fighters of the covering detachment could scarcely remain alive. But their sacrifice would give them an opportunity to
escape.
Lehzbovsky had hardly enough time to inspect the machines when the complex was hit with a strike from the orbital monitors. The main buildings and
workshops of the plant were destroyed in the fire whirlwind and the remained defenders also fell to their share. After the mass bombing, the Empire
command considered the resistance neutralized and threw forward the main forces of the invasion. But the very first shuttles with the clone-infantry
got under the fire of the new division of Commander Lehzbovsky.
Within several hours, RoboGears destroyed more than a half of the shuttles with the landing troops. But nevertheless a few shock battalions of
clone-infantry managed to land. And these battalions were reinforced with the units of walking tankettes Raptor.
When the Empire infantry rushed to the attack on the positions of the complex defenders, the impetuous Raptors launched a roundabout maneuver,
but were met with RoboGears of Commander Lehzbovsky. During this fierce battle, all the Empire tankettes were destroyed, but from the first
detachment of RoboGears only Lehzbovsky’s machine remained.
The courage and self-sacrifice of the fighters of the covering detachment gave the rest of the 4th division the opportunity to take an
advantage-ground and hold out for two other days – just till the arrival of the Protectorate shock fleet that made the aggressors leave
the Angerran star system.
After the reconstruction of the RoboGear Industries plant, the personal RoboGear of Commander Lehzbovsky was mounted in the square in front
of the complex as a token of respect to the courageous warriors who had saved the planet from the Empire occupation. The walking tank of
Commander Lehzbovsky was simply a reequipped mining machine for work in especially difficult conditions manufactured by RoboGear Industries.
The armament of Commander Lehzbovsky’s walking tank:
- Six-barreled automatic cannon of 20 mm caliber “Gutling” Mk20.
- 2 battle fists-manipulators.
The coloration of Commander Lehzbovsky’s fighting machine.
The detachment of James Lehzbovsky was raised in extraordinary situation and there were neither numbers nor other insignia
on the machines. So just before the battle Commander had to mark his RoboGear with a special sign – a well noticeable spot of red color on the
nose of his machine’s monoblock. Afterwards all personal machines of Commander Lehzbovsky had the similar “red nose” – it became the
identification sign of this legendary pilot.
