Lord Cross
Of all members of Empire Legion, of all military leaders and commanders of Polaris Empire Lord Cross stands out for his impressive number of won
battles. The oldest member of the Legion, military leader, who served four Emperors, he is still strong. The Empire restorative medicine allows
a man to be strong and keep his reason even at the age of 300 years old. Cross started his military career as a cadet-officer on the flagship
of the 12th Empire Fleet. The details of the early period of his service are unknown in the Dominion, but Cross became very famous all over
the galaxy with the beginning of the Empire intrusion into the Protectorate space. The shock wing of the Empire Fleet under his command
won more victories than anybody else during the First Wave. However during the Second Wave of Intrusion, his fortune let him down and
his fleet was defeated by the united forces of 32 planets in sector 45. Cross himself hardly escaped death and for a long time was in
disgrace. By the beginning of the Third Wave of Intrusion, when the Empire appeared in the face of numerous rebellions on earlier occupied
planets, Lord Cross was again called out to the ranks. Just during the Third Wave of Intrusion and the following period of Watchful Peace,
Cross gained his greatest glory. As a commander, he took part in quelling rebellions on good hundred of planets and in each conflict proved
to be an excellent tactician and a merciless restorer of the Empire order. Also Cross got the fame of another kind. The story of personal
death-feud between Lord Cross and Protectorate Advisor Helen Piriel entered all historic chronicles. They opposed each other in thirty
battles and each time their military opposition went beyond the scope of the conflict between opposing commanders turning into merciless
personal struggle. The reasons of this mutual hatred are not know to anybody except, maybe, a few high rank officials of the Empire and
Protectorate.
Lord Cross is like ancient kings – being quick to punish, he uses the fear of his soldiers to achieve results. He is excellent
tactician and can foresee the opponent’s actions on the battlefield. At the same time, Cross is ruthless both to enemies and his own soldiers.
His orders always have a single meaning and a failure to carry them out means immediate death. He had never been stopped with the possibility of
casualties among civil population, if the war necessity required them.
