It is the first walking tank of the Empire. After having many modifications, Mad Bull has a wide selection of weapons of different
designation and rather strong armor. It has no equal in close combat. On the whole, Mad Bull excels the similar Protectorate vehicle, though
it has never been so mass as Werewolf.
Having studied in detail the tactic of the Protectorate Werewolves, the Empire designers tried not to repeat their mistakes. They created the
machine, which possessed serious firepower and at the same time was equipped with menacing weapons of close combat. Two types of energy weapons –
an impulse gun and a power gun – were specially developed for Mad Bull (the first assault modification of the Empire walking tank). Mad Bull
differs to advantage from the Protectorate Werewolf. It has reinforced armor and isn’t overloaded as Werewolf with mechanic weapons of close
combat and only slightly yields it in maneuverability. Mad Bull’s weapons don’t require from its pilot to approach the opponent tightly. Almost
all its weapons are able to hit the target at some distance. So the firepower of the Empire walking tank distinctly excels the Protectorate
analogue. Mad Bull is the first Empire walking tank of the monoblock type. Its design served as a basis for the majority of later models,
almost all the Empire pilots were on active service with these menacing fighting machines in their time. The mass application of Mad Bull
happened not long before the battle for Velian. The new walking tanks appeared an unpleasant surprise for the Protectorate troops. As early
as a month after the appearance of Mad Bulls on the front, the first fight of walking tanks with each other took place. Three Werewolves
clashed with two Mad Bulls inside the ruins of an asteroid mining complex. The fight finished with the complete victory of the Empire walking
tanks. Two Werewolves were destroyed and the third with damaged legs was captured.
The armament of the assault walking tank Mad Bull. :
-- Impulse gun “Power Dart” IMG-1M, developed by the Empire Institute of High-Energy Technology. This gun can be place both among firearms
and energy arms. It hits a target with a tiny needle made of radioactive isotope cobalt-99 and enclosed into electromagnetic cocoon. The
destructive effect of such a shell is equal to the effect caused by a hit of a light artillery shell. The impulse guns don’t require bulky
ammunition and consume less energy than other energy weapons. The impulse gun’s fifty-kilogram needle-cartridge is enough for a long battle.
-- Lightning harpoon “Power Bolt” PB-1M, developed by the Empire Institute of High-Energy Technology. While developing the first walking
tanks, the Empire military engineers were creating the machines, which were able to impose an encounter battle on the opponent. The offspring
of such a tactical concept became the lightning harpoon. This weapon uses super-high-voltage discharge to hit its target at a short distance.
The gun inflicts the opponent enormous damage exceeding the effect of any other weapon.
-- Twin missile launcher “Double Hammer” for unguided missiles R-6. These missiles are widespread everywhere and produced both in the
Protectorate and the Empire.
-- Mechanical saw. While developing Mad Bull, the designers didn’t dare to reject mechanical weapons. That’s why the mechanical saw was
mounted on the fore body of the walking tank. This weapon gives to Mad Bull an advantage in close combat and also helps overcome obstructions
and antitank artificial obstacles
